This website has been created to provide information to pregnant women who want to end their pregnancies, women who live in countries with restrictive abortion laws, countries where abortion is illegal, or for women who for some reason or the other do not have access to legal abortion services.
We support legal abortion, but we do realise that abortion is not only illegal in some countries, it is frowned upon in some religious and social circles. We believe that women should always have the right to choose, and so when safe abortion services are not readily available, we support the use of Misoprostol (which has been proven to be an effective and relatively safe method) at home to induce abortion.
Note:
Reproductive rights advocates will always work towards securing safe, legal abortions for all women. However, in countries where the religious and/or political barriers are for the time being insurmountable, misoprostol is a much safer way of inducing abortion than other methods such as introducing sharp instruments or caustic substances into the uterus. Throughout history, women have tried to self-abort in many ways, and too many of these methods risk injury, long-term consequences such as infertility, and even death. Source.
